The Amazon Life HUD

The 'Amazon Life HUD'

The 'Amazon Life HUD' will auto-attach to the top centre of whatever Viewer that you use, on arrival at the Amazon when you have accepted the Experience Permissions for "Experience Tantrica Banana".

If you are brand new to the Amazon River SIMs, your classification will be Explorer without Wisdom Cave. This means that you must RP peacefully, cannot use weapons, and cannot be attacked until you complete the Wisdom Cave.

How do I use my Life HUD?

Your Life HUD has several different buttons, you use these to control your options. Touching these, you will be presented with a menu. (Note: Some special roles get additional options).

When you first arrive in the jungle, you get the following options:

Food

  • Allows you to eat to increase your health. Follow the instructions given in local chat.

Travel Gate

  • Summons our little helper to take you to the nearest Travel Gate, which can take you to Teleport destinations within the Amazon and the surroundings.
    • Note: Some destinations are not available to you until you have 'discovered' all the lookout points on the 'World Map in your Spirit.

Who am I

  • Reports to local chat your current 'stats' - health, shots etc.

I am Human / I am Animal

  •  Allows you to choose between playing a human or animal character.
    • Note: To view and change this mode, you must be at the 'Shrine of the Warrior' at Mt. Gedi.

Leave Tribe

  •  Allows you to de-register yourself from a tribe's Home-Stone if you leave that tribe.

Sex

  •  Allows you to display if you are interested in ERP (Erotic Role-Play/Sex). You have three choices:
    • No sexual role-play
    • Consensual sexual role-play
    • Sexual, including non-consensual, themed role-play.
      • Note: Please ensure your role-play limits do not conflict with this setting or you will be asked to change your HUD's setting.

Radar

  • Gives you a report of points of interest close to you (current SIM only).

World Map

  •  Gives you a map of our SIMs. Initially, most of the map is blurred, until you explore and find the marked 'Lookout' points, which will reveal each region.
  • On this map are marked important points such as food, resources, quests and even Seekers and Monks!

Region Map

  •  This is a smaller version of the World Map, giving you just the region you are currently in.

Dice

  •  A die for use in your unmetered Role-play. Players emote an action (for example, throwing a punch), then both throw the dice, the highest score winning, to decide if the action succeeds or not.

Mentor

  •  Sends a short message to the Amazon Mentor team when you are in need of help.

Group

  • Allows you to join the Amazon River Group.

How To Rent

Blog

A link to our blog where you will find lots of information.

Wisdom Cave

How to find the Wisdom Cave.

PrimCount

  •  Gives you a count of your prim usage in each Amazon region.

RendCost

  •  Gives you an idea of your avatars' complexity. Too high a complexity may well result in other players not seeing your avatar.

Target Dummy

  •  This rezzes a ball which will move around, for you to shoot at and practice your aim

RLV

We recommend that you activate the RLV functionality on your 'Viewer'. This gives you a far more immersive feeling for your RP, making things more realistic and allowing you to see the jungle as it was meant to be seen.

It isn't necessary to have it activated to play in non-PvP mode, but it is to play as a PvP player and experience metered combat. (see below).

After you complete the Wisdom Cave, you also get:

Set Home

  •  Allows you to set somewhere in the jungle as your 'Home' spot.

PvP Off / PvP On

  •  Allows you to change whether you take part in metred combat or not.
    • Note: To view and change these modes, you must be at the 'Shrine of the Warrior' at Mt. Gedi.
    • PvP Off (Green Icon): Either totally peaceful or non-metred Role-Play with dice for combat.
      • How you play, depends on your RP Limits, if you put a limit of 'NO AGGRESSIVE/COMBAT RP' in your limits, then you can play as totally peaceful. Note: Peaceful means that you must be peaceful and well-behaved towards others as well.
      • Non-PvP players without the no aggression limit can use the Spirit's Dice system to engage in non-metered confrontations, and should be open to aggressive type RP.
    • PvP On (Yellow Icon): The full experience. Combat, capture, weapons allowed etc. While playing in PvP mode, you can attack other players, and you can be attacked. RP is not necessary before an attack, but must happen afterwards if not before.

Critical Messages

  •  Your Life HUD will warn you of important information with a red warning icon. Click on it to read messages.

Mojo Status

  •  If your faction has a Home Stone, then this icon tells you it's status. Yellow means that you are the holder of the Mojo, and have extra advantages in combat.
  • Players whose tribe holds the mojo are also marked with the word 'MOJO' when they appear on other players HUD's.

How do I use another player's Life HUD?

To access someone else's HUD, simply point your avatar towards that person, and you will see their name appear to the right of your HUD. Click on this text to access their Life HUD.

Again, options will vary according to your role, and also if the individual is downed or not. In most circumstances a click on someone else's HUD will report their statistics to you - health, status, shots etc. For example:

Ψ Maccus Ψ
status: Local, combat ok
infections?:None
Ammo loaded: 40
Nets loaded: 0
Curare Arrows: 3
Health: 24.680000
Strength: 33.290920
Diving skills: 101%
Vaccination status:0.000000 %
1.954785 m tall
**ALL** Lookout points visited. Exploring status 'DAREDEVIL'
tribe/faction: Amazon Monks
**ALL** quests solved. Enlightenment status 'ENLIGHTENED'
No Mojo Bonus

Your height affects how much food you need - if you are taller than 2 metres, you will need to eat more often to maintain your health. 'Strength' is similar to 'Health' - and can be increased through quests. If you have Strength, that diminishes when you are shot before your Health is affected. If you have zero Strength, your Health is affected directly by any successful hit.

When you touch the info text of a player, you will also get the following option:

  • Bind

    • Allows you to bind someone. This is not to be used unless they are downed or agreed with the player first.
