Cashless has arrived at Amazon!
With
the aim to provide you a smoother experience we have begun to install
the option that all Amazon-Coin payment can be done via the spirit.
This shall provide more stability and also more roleplay options.
We know
that many of you have big amounts of coins stored and so we will
offer a fluent, smooth transition. All your coins stay valid but you
will want to transfer them into the new system as soon as you
experienced the benefits.
Here is
how it works:
Once
you touch your spirit you will see a menu option “coins”. If you
are at home or at the region Glint you can then select that option
and you will see two buttons: “Upload coins” and “Fill bag”.
Upload
coins:
rezz
one or two or many coins really and select “upload coins” and the
system will convert your coins into the spirit, fluently, safe and
fast. Think of coins which are in the spirit like coins you have on a
bank account or in a treasure chest. Ever wondered when you are in
roleplay with a scantily clad person why they suddenly have for
example 5000 coins with them?
Right,
that is not realistic. Hence we come to the next menu option:
Fill
bag:
the bag
is your wallet or purse for day to day shopping. It can hold the
value of 500 coins. Once you chose that option, the spirit rezzed a
bag, loads it with 500 coins (or less if you have not enough) from
your savings and puts it into your inventory.
The bag
is transfer and you need to wear it for making purchases with Amazon
coin. This is more realistic since it can be “robbed” (via
roleplay, as mentioned, the bag is transfer) or it can be lost –
then you are pennyless too- and, bonus, it can even be pickpocketed!
If you
wear your bag and you meet another Amazon resident who also carries a
bag you can pay coins straight by touching their bag. No more pushing
inventory items forth or back!
If you
chose “Fill bag” while wearing already a bag, the worn bag gets
refilled to up to 500 coins
The
trade-tables and the vendors for Amazon goods will step by step also
exchanged into cashless versions. However, if you find an old vendor
which accepts coins then you can still use remaining old coins that
you have and feed them to the old vendor. That system remains in
place for a bit.

F: I
have thousands of coins!
A:
Congratulations! And they stay valid. You can convert them at your
own time and pace when it is convenient for you. Also you can still
transfer them to other residents who can convert them, which means
they are still a viable option to pay within the Amazon-Coin
F: Why
cashless?
A:
several reasons. It will clean up your inventory clutter and also we
saw counterfeit coins circulating which wont be accepted by the
converter tool.
F: I am
hesitating about the new system!
A: Do
not worry. Play with it. Convert 20 coins or 100, keep your other
coins. Experiment with it.
F: I
found an error!
A:
click “Help” on your spirit and describe the error as good as
possible.
Here a step by step guide:
How to use the new Cashless System in the Amazon River
1. Upload your cash to your spirit 'bank account'
- Click your spirit and select 'Coins' (you need to be at your home position or in Glint for this)
- Select 'Upload Coins'
- rezz your coins from your inventory to the ground in front of you.
The spirit will calculate the value of your coins and credit them to your Spirit 'bank account'.
2. Fill your coin bag (your purse/wallet which you carry with you for daily expenses etc).
- Click your spirit and select 'Coins' (you need to be at your home position or in Glint for this)
- Select "Fill Bag"
- the spirit will rezz a coin bag for you, fill it from your bank account in your spirit and send it to your Lost & Found.
- wear the coin bag (it attached to right hip) and you now have money with you to spend!
- a coin bag can hold a maximum of 500 coin
- if you select "Fill bag" and are wearing a bag then the worn bag will be filled
- if you select "Fill bag" and are NOT wearing a bag, then a new bag will be filled
3. Using the Coin Bag to pay for things
- whenever you use a vendor - either an Amazon vendor or a Trader vendor - make sure you wear your coin bag
- all cashless vendors work in the same way as before, except there is now no need to rez coins.
- coins will be deducted automatically from the balance in your coin bag
- if you don't have enough coins to pay for an item, the purchase will fail.
4. Using the Coin Bag to pickpocket or to pay people
- make sure you are wearing your coin bag and the person you want to pay is wearing theirs.
- click their coin bag.
- choose between paying them or being a pickpocket
- if you choose to pay them, you will get a dialogue box, enter the amount to pay, and press 'submit'.
- to pick a pocket, choose that option - you may or may not be successful! There may be consequences!
Notes:
A. You can have more than one coin bag in your inventory at any given time - just as you might have more than one purse/wallet. These coin bags may all contain some cash. You can either wear them and spend that cash, or you can transfer it back to the spirit (your bank account) as you prefer (click your bag and select 'Into Spirit' to transfer the contents back).
