Whispering Wind has been a fixture in the Amazon for years. Besides her husband, Catten, she’s often seen in the company of a pet monkey or tiger. She is a member of the Tapirape Tribe and is a skilled healer.

Whispering’s father was a member of the Tapirape tribe, Whispering said, but she grew up in another tribe “in the north.” After getting her mother pregnant, her father returned to Tapirape village, leaving Whispering to be raised by her mother. When Whispering became an adult, she traveled south to find her father and has lived with the Tapirape ever since.

“Tapirape blood runs in my veins and I love to live and be part of the tribe,” she said. “We are a big family tied with strong bonds of friendship. Our chieftess is a great leader and warrior that keeps the tribe united, preserving the Tapirape tradition.”

She describes the Tapirape as peaceful but not afraid to fight. It's one of the oldest tribes in the Amazon.
