AMAZON — A fire broke out at the Xocó village late Thursday evening.

No arrests have been made, but the FPN Policia Amazonia officials suspect arson. An FPN representative close to the case who was not authorized to talk to the media said police do believe the fire was set intentionally and an investigation into the incident has begun.

Xocó Chieftess Khaing Zar reported no injuries, but several huts, jewelry and food stores, among other native valuables, were destroyed in the fire. Estimates place the damage as high as 1,000 coins.

"Oh nice. It's bright in the dark now here," said FPN Detective Abit Ti Qi.

While the police declined to provide further details about the investigation, the chieftess said she already knows who started the blaze.

"Evolved! They're trying to provoke us into attacking their base, which is almost impregnable," Zar said.

Calls to the Evolved seeking comment were not immediately returned, and no one answered the door at the group's main address.

Bolero News Services will provide further updates as they become available.
