This Sunday, Jan. 31, some of the best actors in the Amazon will take to the stage for one night only to perform 'Karib and Yasani.'

Directed and produced by Cento, the play is about a powerful chief, Raoni, who plans to wed his daughter, Yasani, to a great shaman, as is the tribe’s tradition. Unfortunately for Yasani, her heart doesn’t follow her father’s wishes. She doesn’t want to marry the shaman. Instead, she is quite smitten for Karib, another member of the tribe.

As Yasani worries over spending her life with a man she doesn’t love, she is visited by Jaci, the god of love. He tells her she will meet a man, a great healer with whom she will spend her life. Having had her life with the shaman foretold, Yasani despairs. She must now decide what to do. Will she marry the shaman and please her father, or will she disobey him and suffer his wrath?

Join Cento and the cast at Acan’s Hunt at noon SLT, this Sunday, Jan. 31, for this star-studded performance.

Admission is free, and proceeds for concession sales will go to help starving disabled transsexual war orphans.
