Carnival month in Amazon River 2023

February is carnival month in the Jungle and February 2023 was no exception... a lot of flamingos invaded and because it was mating season, they had become very aggressive. To stop them over breeding, a flamingo hunt was organized by Namida and Summer. Saturday the 11th, hunters from every corner of the jungle gathered at Gallivant’s Clearing aiming for the prizes and the loud fabulous fowls were heard honking and pecking all over the jungle. The winners of this hunt were Mila getting the 1st place, Daniel 2nd place and finally August and Helen sharing 3rd place.
Friday 17th, in Acan's Haunt, the Xoco hosted the Carnival Masquerade party and contest. Many people showed in their carnival outfits, and the Xoco entertained with a dance show in their fantastic feathers. Music was provided by the Xoco DJs while people enjoyed, danced, laughed, and drank. In the end, people were asked to vote for their favorite carnival costume. The prize went to Kwanita of the Tapirapé.

Sunday the 19th. We had the traditional float parade. The rivers in the jungle were adorned with decorated floats sliding over the jungle waters. After sailing around the rivers, the floats docked at bloodbath bay and judges Namida, Summer and Naux interviewed the contestants. The winners were Chieftess Khaing, 1st place, Kwanita 2nd place finally mister Yummi  3rd. A big party followed with Doctor Dylan from the Resort DJ’ing. The samba shook the place and not even the crocodiles dared to disturb.

On the last Sunday of the carnival month, the Carnival Royalty Pageant took place. Summer had spent long decorating Acan’s Hunt and the result was nothing but spectacular. The old but elegant and charming Bubba of the Tapirapé hosted the event, and the famous e-girls opened the competition with several well-choreographed carnival dance routines.

After the show, it was time for Bubba to call the pageants, one by one, to present their costumes, speeches, and talents. During the presentations one of the contestants, Namida, used explosions and dangerous weapons, provoking several ladies’ squealing, gentlemen’s harsh looks and the Xoco chieftess cursing. Luckily no one was seriously injured, and after all 9 pageants had performed, judges Khaing, Alli and Tepin choose Cento to be Carnival King and Laysa from Kayapo to be Carnival Queen.

The organizers Whisper, Summer and Catten, would like to thank everyone that participated!
